Detective Steve Smiley Short Mysteries

Before he lost his sight, Steve Smiley almost didn't make it out of patrol.

This collection follows a young Steve Smiley in the years before Smiley and McBlythe — starting as a beat cop with sharp eyes and sharper instincts, and ending as one of Houston Homicide's most tenacious detectives. Each case tests his nerve and pushes him one step closer to the career that would define him — even after his sight was gone.

Five cases. One relentless detective in the making.
